Animalier Tendencies Trend Report A/W2013

Luxury footwear is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Fall/Winter trends. That said, there are the artistic-architectural shoes, featuring graphic mixes that allure the eyes; and there are the shoes that lead you to think about the most wonderful things. This season, designers went for a direction that recalls exotic prints, and the colorful skins of animals. From the luxe aspect of python, to luscious skins and furs; these shoes will bring out the animalier tendencies on you.

For our Art Basel series, we team-up with Miami’s fashion illustrator Gloria Hernando â€“ who graphically drew the shoes for our top-3 must have shoes of the season. Here, Fendi's navy pony-hair, fur, and architectural heel, makes the top on our list – the heel also comes in different variations, and in a few other mixes of color. Second place goes to Givenchy comma heel boot – perhaps, Riccardo Tisci designed more alluring variations of the same boot, and other heels with the same glossy and detailed watersnake skin. Another of our favorite is the Sophia Webster Sienna Mandarin shoe. Designed in patent leather, and a delicate trompe l’oeil frame created in mesh, alongside turquoise cheetah spots.
